so how do i switch to non glide with d2se? i swapped my gpu to a amd rx 480 and they don't play glide.

Not sure, we don't use D2SE lol, only Cactus. For Cactus the bundle comes with cnc-ddraw so it should already be using DirectDraw (not Glide). If you need help setting up Cactus you can watch the video I made and/or read the Cactus Documentation.

i use d2se for plugy as i think cactus cant use plugy? also use it for torch. unless there a way to also get torch with cactus? i atemted to add another patch to it but failed to do so...but catus works grate for everything els. expect the d2 shareware demo. i can click the exe in the folder to run but in catust it wont run and get an error.

You can use PlugY with Cactus. Just use "PlugY.exe" for your entry in Cactus, and make sure to put your PlugY files inside your platform's folder. This thread also has a discussion of someone moving from D2SE to Cactus w/ PlugY.

ok i was messing around with it got 1.14 to work but 1.09 sorta worked. i was using the exe and i think that is for like 1 install. so the zip seems to work better. there a few patches it dose work with maybe other older versions might work but w/e. just need to find a way to move the stash for d2se to catus plugy think there's a stash files ill try that.

have to mess with the d2 demo. i think it has all the files it need to run and catus is copying the folder to the root and passably some conflicting files. in the catus readme it says what files is needed i think.

You need to put the compatible PlugY version in each of the platforms. I believe the latest PlugY 14.03 version will work for 1.09d - 1.14d, I think it will also work for 1.09b but it's been a while.. then make each of the entries use PlugY.exe. PlugY has its own set of issues so normally I don't recommend people using it anymore and just use TCP/IP.

As for the stashes, you just need to put the stash files inside the Saves folder for the specific version/label you are using. The stashes are connected to the version and to the character so they should all be together in the same folder.

ya these are patch that plugy 14.03 dose not work with. some of the patchs are only needed to play for the bk ring and cat and 1.14d works so... don't no why the other 1.14 dont work they should be basically the same.. probably so file need to add a text to it...but any way work with all other patches 1.09 on words

plugy isn't compatible with this version: unknown
1.10a
1.10b
1.10s
1.13a
1.14a
1.14b
1.14c

14.03 plugy comes with a fix file but i dont no what that dose?

The file patcher? That allows you to patch the D2gfx.dll so you don't need to use PlugY.exe anymore to inject the code needed to get PlugY.dll running. It gives you a more stable way to load PlugY.dll. Sometimes you will get a "Read Process Memory Failed" error when you start the game with PlugY.exe. If you patch your D2gfx.dll, you shouldn't receive that error anymore since when you start the game with Game.exe, the D2gfx.dll will get loaded by the game and then that will load PlugY.dll.

It probably doesn't work because each specific version of the game needs completely different game offsets and custom code. When I forked PlugY and made Alpaca, I removed all of those versions and split them up as well, so for Alpaca, it only supports 1.09b and 1.10f. In addition, I cleaned up a bunch of stuff and also implemented D2 Classic support. So Alpaca is the only stash extension that works with Classic Mode. Although I don't recommend people use Alpaca anymore either.

And yea, a Platform cannot have any file that Cactus is protecting since you can mess up your entire installation, Cactus will automatically ignore those files. You can take a look at bullet number 4 here.

ill have to miss around with alpaca classic stash would be cool... or other lod patches with stash. i just like looking at the items...im bad at origination of files so saves and items stored on mules would get lost... but i no alot of people do it that way. (i keep to many crap items too...haha) "oh this will be good for something right.." since now im trying to collect evrey item on most of the patches. i can make a shields mule helm mule and so on i guess.

i would need a way to be like Characters ABfr has shako in patch 1.08... and up date a excel page or something...

ya ill try look up what even worth playing in 1.14.a,1.4b,1.14c ,1.13a my guess its just skills changed and no items added. but also dont really no. most people play the older patches or most playing 1.13b or 1.14d. i think after 1.11 there not much changed.
1.10a if for cta and bk ring. plugy dose work for 1.10 so
