[1.05b] Lord Susuwatari (Barb) [Level 46 | A1 Hell | Softcore | Character SSF | No Extended Stash | Retired]

Hello all. I have the pleasure to announce to the world, Susuwatari, the first moot sprite to make its way from the Miyazaki Universe into the world of Sanctuary. This is a glorious day indeed. Susuwatari will be a complete remake of my previous Barbarian, Baco. There were a lot of nice lessons I learned from playing Baco, and he is still fun to play, but I think there are some fundamental differences I want to incorporate into the character which will also prepare me for the end game in 1.05b, the differences in style are big enough that it requires a new character. Susuwatari is also part of the Lotus (2026) universe.

All characters in the Lotus (2026) universe will abide by the following standards:

- 1.05b w/ Singling
- Softcore
- Character-based SSF
- No Extended Stash

What this means is that every item that a character uses will be found by that character themselves (Character-based SSF), and it also means that I won't be using TCP/IP to have an "Extended Stash" for that specific character through additional storage space provided by Mules. I will only be using the stash that the character themselves has. All of the characters in this universe are also on 1.05b w/ Singling, and are all Softcore characters. I've deleted all other universes on all versions of the game, and this is now my only universe and character. Susuwatari is currently in A2 Normal and will be a Lance WW Barbarian. I previously thought I may have decided to make it a Martel de Fer WW Barbarian so I can take advantage of the 150% undead damage that those Maces have, but I decided that the Lance's higher maximum damage, way higher range (Range 5 vs Range 1), and lower attribute requirements (110 str, 88 dex, vs 170 str for the MdF) was worth it. I'm pretty excited about this character and its build and it's going to be amazing.

A2 has been completed and currently level 18. I saved my imbue quests from A1 and am waiting to find a Normal Pike in A3, then I most likely will end up staying with that pike for the remainder of Normal, and maybe even NM if I don't find anything better. Hopefully imbue ends up giving me a good role with leech and IAS.

Susuwatari has finished A3 and A4 Normal and is now in A1 NM. I'm gonna pick up the DoE skill and then chill in Normal till at least level 40 before continuing. Lessgoooo!

I reached level 30 yesterday and already am level 36. The grind from 20 to 30 was very slow and painful given I went full single attack, spear BB from the very beginning pretty much, but also because I can feel there is a massive exp penalty at those levels, especially making your way up to level 25. Things are speeding up now though and the Barbarian is feeling great. It's crazy lol. At level 30 itself there is a huge difference when you get WW, but it still didn't feel too good. Once you add 2-3 points into WW though things started to massively change. At level 36 I'm only at 10% damage penalty with WW (I put one point into Natural Resistance at level 31, but I'll catch up once I get A2 NM Sewers quest). Atm I have Coif of Glory helm equipped which is extremely interesting since it blinds targets when I WW them, so you end up with a bunch of monsters just standing there after I hit them the first time with WW LOL, and I also have a Cleglaw's gloves equipped so I also knock them back and slow them down by 25% as well lol. Atm I have 6% LL from Cathan's ring, and I have 7% mana leech on one ring and about 6% mana leech on an amulet. I only have about 63 mana after battle orders so not too much, but as long as I have enough mana leech and a monster in my WW path, I can reduce the times that my mana drops to 0, which means I need to switch to doing at least one or two single attacks to a monster to get just enough mana back to start WW again. The future looks bright for this character and it's already way more powerful and faster than Baco. I love Baco though haha. I might stay in Normal even longer than level 40 depending on how the experience keeps being given the massive power of WW. This is also all on players8 so I'm taking maximum advantage of that, and I love that p8 on 1.05b means that monsters have about a 70% chance to drop a single item (IIRC), so you always have a lot of gear dropping, which is great for having the chance of finding rares, uniques, and sets, but it's also great because you usually get a lot of white bases with mods sometimes which means fast gold farming (20k a pop after repair, or if lucky they will sell at 20k even without repairing them .. 20k is maximum gold selling amount in Norm. In NM it increases to 25k. I forgot what the hell one was, it's been a while since I've played in Hell 1.05b).

Susuwatari has reached A4 NM, is level 40, and he is absolutely wrecking stuff. He still needs to be careful with his life cause monsters hit pretty hard, and I have about 533 hp (pre BO, over 700+ with BO). I only have about 48~ Mana and WW is 38 IIRC at level 11, so I have to make sure I always hit at least one monster in my path so I can recover enough mana for the next one. I have about 18% mana leech and 8% life leech atm. But things are going very well and I'm pretty happy with this char.. I legit killed Duriel and Meph in 2-3 WWs lol. It's crazy and I'm just using a pike. I was able to shop for a Merciless Pike of the Locust so that has a nice amount of ED and 8% LL! I should be able to beat A4 NM tomorrow and get Lord title <3. Then I'll prolly chill in NM for a bit, find a Lance, imbue it if it isn't a rare, and grind up some gear for Hell. I'm excited. Baron Susuwatari is gonna be a thing lol.

Susuwatari has defeated NM Diablo and is now in A1 Hell. Currently level 41... again lol. I'll pick up the DoE quest in A1 hell and then chill in NM for a bit to get better gear and level up. I believe lances drop in A4 NM so it would be a huge power spike for me once I can find one. I already got 110 str and 88 dex req so I'm ready for it. If it drops as a white item, I'll use my NM Imbue quest on it, hopefully gets a good roll.. Leech + ED would be nice, let's see what happens.

A few more drops. Currently level 43 and finally switched to a Lance. I first found a Superior Lance and imbued it, and later on I found a Rare Lance in CS which has replaced the Imbued one.

Alright folks, I've been having a bunch of fun with this barb and got it to level 46, but I think I'm retiring it and I will think what I want to do or play next. The next stash I make will most likely be the opposite of this one in that it will be "Played-based SSF + Extended Stash (via TCP/IP)". I really enjoyed the Character-based SSF (Untwinked in this case) play of these past two barbarians, but I decided that for my next run I do want to share the gear across characters. I'll make a new post for the next character when ready. I'll definitely be making another Barbarian in the future as well for sure, but I'm also excited to start some other chars as well.
